  We were staying at El Conquistador last January) and wanted to find something walkable for dinner and stumbled on this food truck via Google search. We read about the dark scary walk....and it was! BUT-it was well worth it. You sit at this table for about 6 people and this young guy took our order, I ordered a veggie mofongo and tostones and the rest of my family ordered some things (I forget) that we all absolutely loved. They drizzle these sauces over it really make it super tasty. Definitely worth going to. Bonus: we shared our table with a couple from Jersey and had a great time talking with them.

  I saw this place on Google Maps and it had almost all 5 stars with 22 contributions so I couldn't wait to try it. Boy was I disappointed. I walked past it a bunch of times looking for a restaurant, but it is more of a pitched food truck. There are (were) only two tables and about 10 chairs, so you have to stand. That's still not bad if the food is really good, which this was not. The food was EXTREMELY salty, and the empanadas (turnovers) that we ordered were soaked in oil. I was there with some other diners and we mentioned that. I think the lady overheard us because for the rest of the night, she just kept saying how much she "loved" her empanadas. Well, that made only her. Would I recommend this place? Nope. But maybe she just had an off night.

  Absolutely incredible food! I'm a vegetarian and it's hard to find good options in Puerto Rico but Bistro Del Mar caters to vegetarians and the meat lovers like my husband. It's only a short walk from El Conquistador if you cut through the marina. The mofongo was soooo good. The best meal I've had in PR by far!!

  The food at Bistro del Mar is really special. If you're staying at El Conquistador, make a quick trip here. It's truly better (and more affordable) than anything you can get at the resort. I'm an obvious gringo, yet the community around this food truck is highly accommodating and welcoming. They embrace outsiders visiting and enjoying the culture. Don't resort to staying within the resort!
