This is a small but interesting museum within what used to be her residence. Easy to miss near La Puerta de San Juan (just walk a block down from the cathedral) Felisa Rincon was Mayoress of San Juan for 22 years and is still remembered for her interest in helping the less fortunate and the poorer residents of San Juan. Not like the aspiring politicians that we have had recently in San Juan as mayors. I only gave it three stars as the visit was somewhat of less interest as a well meaning guide (who was probably rather bored) insisted on following us around, explaining every possible detail which was a too much information in the end.

Our guide was very informative. She was the first women mayor of San Juan. Was mayor for 22 years. Now they have a woman mayor and governor. Yes!

Interesting piece of San Juan history. Home of first female mayor who did alot for the people like creating a Head Start program for children.

Visited on 9/28. The Museum is very interesting. Hope they’ll improve on some things to help it achieve its full potential. Our guide walked us from room to room but didn’t discuss most of what was on display (she ended the tour without addressing any of the items on the first floor, so we had to ask her about them). She answered questions we came up with but didn’t offer much information unprompted and initially didn’t give us any background about who ran the museum, its purpose, etc. This museum is chock full of memorabilia but the lights were off in all rooms, making it extremely hard to appreciate the items and read explanations.

Architecture is Old San Juan is breath taking. So much history. I can only imagine the stories these places must have.
