  We checked in 12/26 and checked out 12/27. The first impression was not great, the doorman was abrupt and grumpy. With 4 kids in tow, we tried to get everyone in order and he abruptly told us to” come here!” to check our temperature. Our family just got out from our car not even for few minutes and we were not hold any traffic or anyone else for a fact but, the way he rushed us seems that we kept him waiting forever. We went to front desk staff to get checked in and the front desk staff was grumpy as well, I thought in my head, “maybe it’s just a bad timing, maybe everyone had a bad day today?!. I felt bad and felt really down after the encounter but I shakes all of those negative feeling and decided that this hotel is too beautiful to have negative feelings. After settled in our rooms, we went right away to the pool, and everything changes, the restaurant staff were very nice, the pool staff nice and helpful. The ground so beautiful and well kept. The pool was so nice and relaxing. Our kids had a blast in this hotel. We love the banana’s staff. particularly the staff on 12/26 from 3pm to 6pm( I’m sorry, I forgot to ask your name I was so distracted with my kids) you are so kind and so patient, 100% wonderful human being, again, I’m sorry I don’t ask your name but, a team member like you that make a hotel shines and you are the epitome of Hospitality. Overall I recommend this hotel, very clean rooms, clean public area, Beautiful grounds and pools and majority of staffs are great. Despite the unfortunate encounter during check in this hotel really a great place to stay.

  My flight was cancelled and I was left scrambling for a new hotel. I was able to get into The Courtyard, and was happy because the pictures made it look like paradise. Little did I know this hotel is a casino, which no mention is made on its website. It is also right next to the airport, so it is extremely loud and not relaxing at all. My room was musty feeling like it used to be a smokers room and they liked to keep the door open. I had to do laundry since my trip was extended, and their coin operated washing machines were broken. There are signs saying they are $1.50 each but they are actually $2.00 each. The front desk had to get the maintenance to fix them since my clothes were already in there. There were also no signs saying how long the machines would run for, so I killed over an hour of my vacation waiting on laundry. If you don't care about noise, it smelling like a casino, or don't need laundry done then this is a fine hotel with a decent enough public beach. It does have a hot tub. EDIT: I am editing this review to increase it to 3 stars. While I did not care for the hotel itself the staff was amazing and made sure to help me and make me feel comfortable. When I wanted to cancel my stay, the front desk gentleman was courteous in walking me through the process and confirming my refund. The same can be said for the woman who checked me in, she could see I was a solo traveler and in a bit is disarray and upgraded my room to a nice ocean view at no cost. She was also helpful in getting maintenance to the washers. The servers at the restaurant were also awesome.

  I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The hotel is great, clean, has restaurants, casino, coffee shop, the beach is right in front of the hotel. It is a nice beach. The pool is big and there is a jacuzzi. I dont give five stars because on the weekends the pool has hours you have to choose whether you want to get in the pool from 7am-2pm or from 2pm-7pm, you get a bracelet and they check it to know if you are in the morning or afternoon. Also some of the guests appeared to be not family friendly!

  The first time I stayed here, American was late in air and I was not able to connect with the flight to St. Lucia. I was comped overnight soup to nuts, that is taxi round trip, dinner and breakfast and a nice room overnight, clean, and just fine. After check in and checking out my room and freshening up I headed to a buffet dinner. BUT, in between the elevators and the dining room restaurant was the casino. So, I took two bucks on a dollar slot and pulled. Bells, whistles, marching bands, salsa orchestra's began playing and with all eyes on me a nice well dressed guy walks up to me and offers congratulations and askes me to wait a moment. When he returns he drops $5000 cash in my hand and la di da...I dismiss the salsa orhestra and marching band and head off the dinner my pocket bulging. Can anyone guess what my favorite hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico is? So, in less than six hours I left freezing New York, got a free room and dinner and taxi in Isla Verde, taxi to and from. an added 5 G's for the trouble of a missed connection. I have stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde about ten times since, at least, and only one time when they were in the middle of a construction project were things slightly bad. All other times, things were great, "great" in the sense that it serves all my needs terrifically. Room, balcony, food with a centerpiece of a whole Roast Pig, and plenty of alternatives and side dishes. I am good to go with some roast pork or chicken con frijoles rosados , some cafe' and it's another start to a fabulous stay in 88 degree sun shining weather in February snow in NYC. For me, I see no reason to change hotels. I love P.R. and I LOVE Courtyard by Marriott....Isla Verde. My modus operandi for traveling, TIP WELL on your first day, YOU WILL HAVE THE BEST SERVICE FOR YOUR STAY, AND HIT THEM ALL AGAIN UPON CHECK OUT AND THEY WILL REMEMBER YOUR NAME AND FACE FOR THE NEXT TIME. Did I mention that I LOVE Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde, Puerto Rico?

  Had a amazing stay! It was truly an experience. Room had a little maintenance issue but they moved quickly resolve it. Mitchel at the Front Desk was very courteous and friendly. He made my stay much more special taking care of our family's needs. Will definitely come back!
