  It's Sunday, no emergency clinics open you have no choice but to go to the hospital emergency room. There were only 2 doctors working. They have a skeleton crew it seems. We've been here since 11:30 AM. It's 3:30PM. At here are over 60 people here waiting. Glad I got here early. They should have back up staff! It's a clean place but gosh they're sloooooow

  Call the hospital and you're prompted to press "7" for English. I press 7 and was placed on hold 3X, until I 10 minutes when I hung up. I called back and spoke to a woman in my broken up Spanish and explained that I wanted to speak to someone in English, which is why I pressed "7" but instead I was placed on HOLD numerous times without a courtesy PLEASE HOLD. I explained what I was calling for and I was transferred to the WRONG DEPARTMENT! From there, I was sent to the correct OR Unit. I continued speaking Spanish, in fear of being placed on a forever hold. My mother was in for surgery and she provided my personal information and requested that I be given any updates I called for. THIS IS IN WRITING AND SIGNED BY HER, during her pre-admission. I was told I would not be able to get a status on her condition over the phone. I explained that I am in NEW JERSEY, not in PUERTO RICO, so any other way would not be possible and these updates were requested by my mother. There was nothing she could do! SO... what am I left to do??? Take a flight?
